The Uttar Pradesh government is set to commence the procurement of Kharif crops such as paddy, maize, and millets (Shrianna). The registration process for these crops is currently underway. Several states, including Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh, have completed preparations for the government procurement of Kharif crops, which will start from October 1. In Uttar Pradesh, procurement centers have been established, and millet procurement will begin from October 1 as well. Meanwhile, the Madhya Pradesh government has extended the registration deadline until October 4, after which procurement will begin. Additionally, the Madhya Pradesh government has announced a bonus, alongside the Minimum Support Price (MSP), for the procurement of millets.

The state will procure crops such as paddy, moong, soybeans, and millets at the MSP. The government has already declared that the procurement will be conducted at MSP rates.
Uttar Pradesh, the registration process for Kharif crop procurement is in progress. The state's Food and Marketing Department is gearing up for the millet procurement, which will begin on October 1. In Banda district, eight procurement centers are being set up, and six centers will specifically focus on bajra procurement. Similar arrangements are being made in other districts to facilitate the process.
On August 15, the Madhya Pradesh government launched the Rani Durgavati Shrianna Promotion Scheme. Under this scheme, farmers are being provided with high-quality seeds and financial support. The government will procure crops like kodo and kutki at the MSP, along with a bonus of ₹1,000 per quintal. The same bonus will also apply to the procurement of paddy.
₹1,000 Incentive for Shrianna Crops: Farmers cultivating Shrianna crops in Madhya Pradesh will receive an incentive of ₹1,000 per quintal during the procurement. For the 2024-25 season, the MSP for ragi has been set at ₹4,290 per quintal, up from ₹3,846 per quintal in the 2023-24 season. Kodo and kutki will also be procured at the same MSP rate, with an additional ₹1,000 bonus per quintal.
