Major relief for farmers, the government has increased the loan limit under the Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme from ₹3 lakh to ₹5 lakh. This move aims to strengthen the financial stability of farmers, fishers, and dairy entrepreneurs. Farmers up to the age of 75 years are eligible for this scheme, and the KCC will be valid for five years. Beneficiaries can access the loan amount conveniently through ATMs, smart cards, and mobile banking. This initiative is expected to benefit approximately 7.4 crore farmers across the country.
The primary objective of the Kisan Credit Card scheme is to provide financial support to farmers for their agricultural needs. Through this scheme, farmers can easily avail loans from banks to meet various farming expenses, including crop cultivation, dairy farming, fisheries, animal husbandry, and post-harvest costs.
