Earthworms are commonly known as allies of farmers. When provided with dung, they consume and digest it, producing a resultant product that can be utilized as vermicompost or earthworm manure. This substance does not attract flies or mosquitoes, rendering it environmentally friendly. It typically contains around 3% nitrogen, 2% sulfur, and 1.5% to 2% potassium.
To manufacture vermicompost fertilizer, procure a container, plastic bucket, or cement tank and create a hole at the container's base to facilitate drainage of excess water. Lay down a foundation of gravel, agricultural residue, and waste materials at the container's bottom. On top of this foundation, add layers of household waste materials. Once the container is fully filled, introduce worms onto the uppermost layer, and ensure daily watering of the pile. Following this process, vermicompost will be prepared within a month.
