Isolated pockets of Uttarakhand, north Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, north Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, and Himachal Pradesh may experience dense fog on 17th January. Cold day conditions continue in some parts of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh on 17th & 18th January. Isolated areas in Uttar Pradesh might face Cold Day to Severe Cold Day conditions on the same day, while Bihar may witness these on 17th January, with cold day conditions in isolated pockets from 18th-21st January. Yesterday, Cold day conditions prevailed in many parts of Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh & Bihar, with isolated pockets in northwest Rajasthan. Severe Cold day conditions were observed in many parts of East Uttar Pradesh & Bihar and some parts of West Uttar Pradesh.
As winter blankets Northern India, temperatures have dipped to a chilly 2-10°C range across the region. Hissar in Haryana reported the lowest temperature, a frosty 1.1°C. The weather forecast paints a picture of thick fog enveloping Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh & Delhi from the 17th to the 18th, persisting in some spots until January 19th-22nd. Meanwhile, Uttar Pradesh is gearing up for dense fog on the 17th and 18th, with isolated pockets expected to experience it for the following 3 days.
