Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav on Wednesday inaugurated development projects worth ₹124.01 crores and laid the foundation stone for construction works worth ₹53.62 crores in Vidisha. On this occasion, 3,183 beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) and 749 beneficiaries of the Awas Plus Yojana were handed over their new homes. A total of 3,932 beneficiaries celebrated their housewarming ceremonies.
During the program, the Chief Minister distributed certificates to 44,981 women, popularly referred to as ‘Lakhpati Didis,’ who have become self-reliant through various beneficiary-oriented schemes. The event also saw the presence of Union Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhan, who appreciated the efforts and highlighted their significant contribution to rural and urban development.
Several beneficiaries received aid under various schemes, including the Agricultural Infrastructure Fund Scheme, Pradhan Mantri Micro Food Processing Enterprises Upgradation Scheme, Madhya Pradesh MSME Promotion Scheme, goat rearing, dairy businesses, and other initiatives.
Sanctions for Housing and Applications
Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, housing approvals were granted to 11,716 beneficiaries. Additionally, approvals for 55,189 applications were provided under the Chief Minister’s Welfare Campaign in Vidisha district. These included 46,571 applications from rural areas and 8,618 from urban areas.
A Step towards New Development
The event was held at the Old Agricultural Produce Market Ground in Vidisha, where the government emphasized its commitment to making the district self-reliant through developmental initiatives and beneficiary schemes.
