Madhya Pradesh Government Presents Budget for Fiscal Year 2024-25

The Madhya Pradesh government has unveiled its budget for the fiscal year 2024-25, reflecting a 16 percent increase from the previous year. Finance Minister Jagdish Deora presented the budget in the Assembly, which totals over Rs. 3.65 lakh crore. Farmers have high expectations from this budget, which also includes a provision of Rs. 500 crore for the Simhastha festival to be held in 2028.

Preparation for Crop Insurance Scheme:

Deputy Chief Minister Jagdish Deora presented the budget for the financial year 2024-25 during the monsoon session of the Assembly. Madhya Pradesh has seen 2.30 crore people rise above the poverty line. To compensate for damaged crops, Rs. 2000 crore will be allocated under the PM Crop Insurance Scheme.

Provision of Rs. 4000 Crore under PM Awas Yojana:

The MP government has allocated Rs. 4000 crore for housing under the PM Awas Yojana for the year 2024-25. The Finance Minister also announced that Rs. 590 crore will be spent on the development of livestock farmers and Gaushalas, with an additional Rs. 150 crore set aside to encourage dairy producers.

Government's Budget for Farmers:

The budget includes various allocations for agriculture, rural development, women, education, health, and farmers. Rs. 2000 crore will be spent under the Crop Insurance Scheme, Rs. 30 crore for soil conservation, and Rs. 590 crore for livestock farmers and Gaushalas. Furthermore, Rs. 150 crore will be dedicated to the promotion and development of dairy producers. The budget also allocates Rs. 13,596 crore for the construction and maintenance of irrigation projects and Rs. 11,065 crore for subsidies under the Atal Krishi Jyoti Yojana for 10 horsepower energy charges.

Rs. 26,560 Crore Allocation for Various Schemes by Agriculture Minister:
Finance Minister Jagdish Deora announced that former CM and current Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has allocated Rs. 26,560 crore for schemes like Ladli Laxmi and Ladli Behna Yojana. Additionally, there has been an 81 percent increase in the budget for the Women and Child Development Department.
