The heat has intensified in Madhya Pradesh as April begins. Sunday turned out to be the hottest day of the season so far. Ratlam recorded the highest temperature in the state at 42.6°C, while Bhopal saw a daytime high of 40.5°C 1.5°C more than the previous day. Hot and dry winds coming from Rajasthan are making the weather feel like a heatwave in many areas. According to the weather department, temperatures may rise further to around 43°C in the next 48 hours.

Some other cities reported high temperatures as well:

  1. Narmadapuram: 42.2°C
  2. Khajuraho: 42°C
  3. Guna and Ujjain: 41°C
  4. Bhopal: 40.5°C

At night, the temperature dropped slightly, with Pachmarhi being the coolest at 14.4°C.

Weather Systems Active Across India:

Multiple weather systems are currently active in the country. These could lead to unseasonal rain, hailstorms, and lightning in many regions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) says a low-pressure line stretches from Marathwada to Tamil Nadu, and a cyclonic circulation is present over Karnataka in the upper air levels.

Rain and Hailstorm Predictions: The coming days, changing weather conditions could bring rainfall and hail to several states. IMD forecasts rain and possible hail in Kerala, Karnataka, Bihar weather, Assam, Meghalaya, and parts of eastern and northeastern India.

Western Disturbance Approaching: A fresh western disturbance is expected to become active from April 8. As a result, light to moderate rain with thunderstorms, winds (30–40 km/h), and hail may occur in Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand on April 9 and 10.

Rain in Andaman and Nicobar Islands: A low-pressure area is also likely to form in the southeastern Bay of Bengal, which could bring light to moderate rain in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands over the next 6–7 days. During this time, strong winds of 35–55 km/h may also affect the region.
