A cabinet meeting chaired by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav saw the approval of several initiatives aimed at providing benefits to various segments of the population. Among these, a significant decision was made to provide gas cylinders at ₹450 to Ladli sisters, benefiting those under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) and non-PMUY beneficiaries.
Under the 2.0 scheme, eligible Anganwadi workers, mini Anganwadi workers, and helpers will be provided insurance cover. For the fiscal years 2024-25 and 2025-26, the scheme will involve a financial outlay of approximately ₹3.63 crore from the central government and ₹2.42 crore from the state government each year. The total approved budget for the two fiscal years is ₹12.10 crore.
Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) Anganwadi workers, mini Anganwadi workers, and helpers aged 18 to 59 will be covered under this scheme. The annual premium is ₹436 per beneficiary, providing a life risk cover of ₹2 lakh in the event of the policyholder's death. Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) this scheme covers accidental death and disability for Anganwadi workers, mini Anganwadi workers, and helpers aged 18 to 59. The annual premium is ₹20 per beneficiary, providing ₹2 lakh in case of accidental death or permanent total disability, and ₹1 lakh for partial permanent disability. Both insurance schemes will be implemented through the bank branches where the honorarium is deposited. The financial burden will be shared between the central government (60%) and the state government (40%).
The cabinet approved two schemes to provide subsidized gas cylinder refills to all gas connection holders under PMUY and non-PMUY Ladli sisters. For the fiscal year 2024-25, the approval was granted for Scheme No. 1370 (Kitchen Gas Assistance Scheme) and Scheme No. 1387 (Kitchen Gas Assistance Scheme).
AYUSH Medical Services in 22 Districts: The cabinet approved the establishment and operation of AYUSH wings in 22 districts to provide AYUSH medical services. The approval includes the creation of 213 positions and a budget allocation of ₹19 crore. The districts covered under this initiative include Anuppur, Gwalior, Agar Malwa, Rewa, Alirajpur, Bhind, Ashok Nagar, Katni, Umaria, Bhopal, Betul, Burhanpur, Khargone, Khandwa, Dhar, Morena, Satna, Shahdol, Singrauli, Ujjain, Sagar, and Niwari.
