Madhya Pradesh has made remarkable progress in adopting and advancing drone technology, establishing it as a game-changing innovation. To strengthen the ecosystem for drones, the state government recently organized a workshop focusing on their extensive applications. The event also marked the launch of the Drone Information Portal (https://drone.mp.gov.in) which provides comprehensive information on drone technology, policies, and training.
Drone technology has gained recognition for its versatile applications across various sectors. Madhya Pradesh has demonstrated its potential, particularly in the successful implementation of the Swamitva Yojana using drones.
Additional Chief Secretary (ACS) Mr. Sanjay Dubey highlighted that the Government of India’s drone policy aims to establish a robust drone-based ecosystem. He described drones as more than just flying cameras, calling them a "game-changing technology" capable of driving transformative changes in both urban and rural areas.
President of the Drone Federation of India, Mr. Smit Shah, emphasized the transformative potential of drones in trade and agriculture. Citing initiatives like the ‘Namo Drone Didi’, he underlined how the widespread adoption of drone technology could significantly boost rural development. NABARD’s General Manager, Mr. Qamar Javed, also shared insights into the growing role of drones, suggesting that their use could be expanded to cooperative institutions and PACS societies for better results.
