The Madhya Pradesh government emphasized the significance of Ayurveda in achieving the goal of living a healthy and long life. On this occasion, several major announcements were made to promote the development of the AYUSH sector in the state.
Dr. Mohan Yadav, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, announced the establishment of 11 Ayurvedic colleges in the state. Under the New Education Policy (NEP), universities will be permitted by the state government to run courses in Ayurveda, medical sciences, and other disciplines. Additionally, arrangements will be made to offer paramedical and nursing courses in Ayurveda. The registration of clinics and nursing homes related to AYUSH will also be managed by the AYUSH department.
Land will be provided in Ujjain for the permanent infrastructure of Ayurvedic institutions, particularly for the Singhast Mahaparva. The state government will also extend its support in setting up units for manufacturing Ayurvedic products.
₹1.75 Lakh Crore Allocated for River Linking Project: The Chief Minister highlighted that Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country to implement the river linking initiative. The rivers of the state not only enrich Madhya Pradesh but also benefit neighboring states. To fulfill the vision of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has allocated ₹1.75 lakh crore for this project.
Commitment to Promote Research in Ayurveda: Inder Singh Parmar, Minister of AYUSH, Technical Education, and Higher Education, shared the state government’s efforts in promoting research in Ayurveda. He emphasized the government’s proactive measures in this field and acknowledged the contributions of dedicated and skilled Ayurvedic practitioners.
