To ensure that devotees attending the Maha Kumbh 2025 in Prayagraj receive quality ration at subsidized rates, the Union Government has launched a special scheme. Under this initiative, the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India (NAFED) is distributing essential food items such as wheat flour, pulses, rice, and other necessities at affordable prices. Devotees can also place orders via WhatsApp or phone call. Over 1000 metric tons of ration have already been distributed, with the supply continuing through 20 mobile vans across the entire Maha Kumbh region and Prayagraj.
To prevent any shortage of food for saints, kalpavasis, and devotees during the Maha Kumbh, mobile vans have been deployed for direct ration delivery. Rohit Jain, the State Head of NAFED, stated that this special initiative is being run under the Ministry of Cooperation to ensure that no devotee faces any food-related issues. Deepak Agrawal, MD of NAFED, is personally overseeing the operations to ensure timely distribution to all beneficiaries.
Devotees staying at the Maha Kumbh can order ration via WhatsApp or by calling 72757 81810. The subsidized ration includes wheat flour and rice in 10 kg packets, while pulses such as moong, masoor, and chana dal are available in 1 kg packets. Upon receiving an order, mobile vans immediately deliver the ration to the respective ashrams and saints.
Affordable and High-Quality Ration for Devotees: So far, 700 metric tons of wheat flour, 350 metric tons of pulses (moong, masoor, and chana dal), and 10 metric tons of rice have been distributed. NAFED's products and the ‘Bharat Brand’ grains are gaining rapid popularity among devotees. Through this initiative, the government is not only providing high-quality ration to millions of devotees but also making the process highly accessible and convenient. The introduction of mobile vans and on-call ordering has significantly enhanced the efficiency of this service, ensuring that Maha Kumbh 2025 is a seamless and memorable experience for all attendees.
