The Rajasthan government has extended the last date for the Chief Minister Mangla Pashu Bima Yojana to 31st January 2025, bringing great relief to livestock farmers. This scheme is highly beneficial for farmers who rear animals such as cows, buffaloes, camels, goats, and sheep. Under this initiative, free insurance coverage for livestock will be provided, helping to reduce the financial burden on farmers.
The primary aim of this scheme is to promote animal husbandry in rural areas and provide financial security to livestock farmers. The Rajasthan government has set a target to insure approximately 21 lakh animals under this scheme. The insurance coverage offers up to ₹5 lakh per animal, ensuring the livelihood of livestock farmers is safeguarded.

Eligibility Based on Animal Age: Eligibility for insurance under the scheme depends on the age of the animal. The age limits for different animals are as follows:

Evaluation of Animal Value: The value of the animal will be assessed based on its health, milk production capacity, age, breed, and prevailing market conditions. This evaluation will be conducted through mutual agreement between the veterinarian, farmer, and insurance representative. However, the maximum insured value per animal unit is capped at ₹40,000.
