Farmers in various parts of the country have to endure significant losses every year due to adverse weather conditions. The crop they cultivate with hard work often gets destroyed by unfavorable weather. In such circumstances, timely weather forecasting becomes crucial for farmers. However, farmers often struggle to access such information. Taking all these aspects into consideration, the Meteorological Department has launched a mobile application named "Meghdoot" for the farmers. Many farmers are using this app to receive accurate weather information and safeguard their crops. Through this app, farmers can access precise weather updates. Any farmer can download this app for free from the Google Play Store.
The central government aims to digitally connect the farmers of the country through the initiative of Digital India. With this vision, the Meteorological Department has launched the "Meghdoot" app. The good news is that using this app is quite straightforward. Through this platform, farmers receive advice based on weather information to protect their crops from potential risks. Farmers can easily download this app from the Google Play Store on their phones, register with their mobile numbers, and receive accurate alerts about weather conditions.
How to Use the Meghdoot App: The Meghdoot app is designed to provide accurate weather information to farmers. It is a joint initiative of the Indian Meteorological Department and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research. The Meghdoot app can be downloaded from the Google Play Store. After downloading, registration on the app is required using your mobile number. Following registration, you can sign in by selecting your preferred language. In this app, every Tuesday and Friday, the Agromet Field Unit provides district-wise advice and weather forecasts for crops.
