The entire northern region of India is currently enveloped in the cold. In almost every area of each state in Northern India, there is a prevailing wave of cold and fog these days. Amidst this, the weather department has forecasted an increase in cold and the possibility of rain in various regions in the coming days. Along with this, the weather department has issued advice for farmers. With guidance tailored for different states, farmers can protect their crops. The weather department has stated that there is an increase in moisture in the air in Northern India, which can impact standing crops in fields.
On Tuesday, the weather department advised that there is a likelihood of dense fog in some parts of Punjab, Haryana, eastern Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, western Rajasthan, northwestern Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, the Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Assam, and Meghalaya. Additionally, in Mizoram and Tripura in the next few days, pay attention to standing crops due to the rise of insect diseases.
Advice For Farmers of Different States:
- Given the presence of late blight disease in potatoes in Punjab, spraying 500-700 grams of Indofil M-45 in 250-350 liters of water at intervals of 7 days is recommended for prevention.
- In Uttarakhand, for controlling late blight disease in potatoes, spray Mancozeb at the rate of 2.5 grams per liter of water. In Uttar Pradesh, where there is increased humidity in the air, potentially leading to the spread of late blight disease in potatoes and tomatoes, farmers are advised to spray Carbendazim at 1.0 gram or Dithane M-45 at 2.0 grams per liter of water when symptoms appear.
- The current weather conditions in Odisha are conducive to the spread of late blight disease in tomatoes and potatoes. To prevent this, apply Metalaxyl + Mancozeb at the rate of 2.5 grams per liter of water.
- In Arunachal Pradesh, the higher humidity in the air or heavy dew in some places can create favorable conditions for the spread of late blight disease in potatoes. To prevent this, spray Carbendazim @ 1 gram/liter of water or Dithane M-45 @ 2 grams/liter of water.
- In Mizoram, due to fluctuations in humidity, low temperatures, and fog, there is a possibility of blight disease and thrips in onions and garlic. To prevent this, mix Lambda-cyhalothrin 5 EC @ 6 milliliters + Tebuconazole @ 10 milliliters in 10 liters of water and spray.
- In Bihar, the higher humidity in the air may lead to the spread of late blight disease in tomatoes and potatoes. For control, spray Dithane M-45 @ 2 grams/liter of water.
- In Madhya Pradesh, to control root aphids and stem borers in wheat, spray Thiamethoxam 12.6% + Lambda-cyhalothrin 9.5% ZC @ 200 milliliters per hectare.
