Significant move to boost dairy production in Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced a historic step under the vision of "Prosperity through Cooperation". The state government is taking strong measures to enhance the income of farmers and livestock owners through dairy cooperatives.

The government has decided to sign a cooperation agreement between the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), MP State Cooperative Dairy Federation (MPCDF), and various milk unions across the state. The announcement was made during a high-level meeting held at the state secretariat.

Gopal Sammelan to be Held on April 13:

Preparations for the State-level Cooperative Dairy Producers’ Gopal Sammelan, scheduled to be held on April 13 at Ravindra Bhavan in Bhopal, were also reviewed in the meeting. Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah is expected to attend the event.

Milk Coolers and Mini Plants in Every District:

The state government is committed to ensuring the procurement of milk directly from farmers and livestock owners at fair prices. As part of this effort, milk coolers, mini dairy plants, and chilling centers will be established in every district through Sanchi Dairy, significantly expanding milk processing capacity.

Madhya Pradesh currently ranks third in the country in milk production. The new target is to establish milk cooperative societies in every village and connect more and more milk producers to the cooperative dairy network. Strengthening the Sanchi brand is a key focus of the initiative.

Doubling Income through Agriculture and Dairy:

The Chief Minister also stated that wherever old processing plants are operational, modern, technology-driven plants will now be installed. The current processing capacity of 18 lakh liters per day will be increased to 30 lakh liters per day. This expansion will not only strengthen milk producer institutions but also provide farmers with a sustainable source of additional income alongside agriculture. Ultimately, this will lead to economic prosperity and give a new direction to the development of the state.
