Monsoon Update: Rainfall Expected in Various Parts of India Over the Next 7 Days

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast favorable conditions for the further advance of the Southwest Monsoon into parts of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and the Northwest Bay of Bengal. In the next 4-5 days, the monsoon is also expected to reach West Bengal, the remaining parts of sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and some parts of Bihar weather.

Upcoming Monsoon Rainfall Forecast:

Next 7 Days: Widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) is likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura, and sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim.

Next 5 Days: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places over sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura.

Heavy Rainfall Alerts:

1. Meghalaya and Assam: Extremely heavy rainfall is expected from June 15-19.
2. Odisha: Isolated heavy rainfall is likely from June 17-19.
3. Eastern Bihar: Isolated heavy rainfall is expected on June 18 and 19.

Western and Southern India:

1. Marathwada: Isolated heavy rainfall is likely on June 16 and 17.
2. Konkan & Goa, Kerala & Mahe: Isolated heavy rainfall is expected from June 17-19.
3. North Coastal Andhra Pradesh and North Interior Karnataka: Isolated heavy rainfall is expected on June 17.
4. Madhya Maharashtra: Isolated heavy rainfall is likely on June 18 and 19.

Rainfall Observations from Yesterday: Heavy rainfall was recorded at isolated places over sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim. Additionally, rainfall was observed in parts of Chhattisgarh, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Yanam.
