Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that India has emerged as an inspiration, ally, and a trusted friend to many nations across the world. Economically, India's significance has grown tremendously. While it was ranked as the 11th largest economy in 2014, under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has now become the 5th largest economy globally. Expressing optimism, Dr. Yadav highlighted that India is on track to become the world’s third-largest economy by 2026. He made these remarks during the swearing-in ceremony of the Commonwealth Trade Commissioner at the International Day for Tolerance event organized by the India Commonwealth Trade Council. On this occasion, he congratulated Mr. Piyush Tiwari on his new role and expressed confidence that his leadership would further strengthen trade relations with Commonwealth nations.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized that Madhya Pradesh is rich in potential for trade, commerce, industry, culture, minerals, aviation, and tourism. He mentioned that the state has been receiving proposals from several global nations for collaboration in these areas. Highlighting the state's rapid development, he noted that while Madhya Pradesh had only 5-6 medical colleges in 2004, the number has now risen to 20. Dr. Yadav likened India to a radiant sun among Commonwealth nations, symbolizing its emergence as a beacon of growth and hope. Reflecting on the nation’s past struggles during the independence movement, he noted how India has turned adversity into an opportunity to achieve remarkable progress.
Dr. Yadav also remarked on India's technological advancements, particularly in the digital domain, which have left many nations astonished. The widespread adoption of digital payments in India is a testament to its progressive mindset and innovation. He expressed confidence that India would soon lead the world in several domains, aligning with Swami Vivekananda's prophecy that the 21st century would belong to India. The Chief Minister announced that Madhya Pradesh’s budget is projected to double in the next four years, reflecting the state’s commitment to achieving its developmental goals promptly.
Addressing the gathering, Commonwealth Trade Commissioner Mr. Piyush Tiwari acknowledged the exemplary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the national level and Chief Minister Dr. Yadav in Madhya Pradesh. He explained how UNESCO initiated efforts in 1995 to promote awareness about tolerance. While the spirit of tolerance is significant every day, celebrating the International Day for Tolerance highlights its importance on a global scale.
