A western disturbance has caused a shift in the weather across Madhya Pradesh. On Sunday morning, rainfall was recorded in 10 districts, leading to a drop of 6-8 degrees in daytime temperatures. In the capital city of Bhopal, the sky remained overcast throughout the day, with a maximum temperature of 21.8°C and a minimum of 14.4°C.
In Guna, Damoh, Satna, and Umaria, cold conditions intensified, with severe cold-day situations observed. According to the Meteorological Department, fog, clouds, and light rain are expected in several districts over the next 2-3 days. Another western disturbance is predicted to arrive on January 14, which will impact the region with clouds and light rain from January 15-16.
The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for rain, lightning, and hailstorms in 26 districts of the state on Monday. These include Narmadapuram, Betul, Rewa, Singrauli, Satna, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Chhatarpur, Damoh, and Sagar. Additionally, a moderate fog alert has been issued for Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, and Sheopur Kalan.
Mandla recorded the coldest night in the state, with the minimum temperature dropping to 7.5°C. Other places such as Marukheda (Neemuch), Shahdol, Singrauli, and Sidhi also saw minimum temperatures around 9°C. The Meteorological Department has advised people to take precautions against the cold and rain and stay informed about weather alerts.
