Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav announced that the procurement of soybean at the minimum support price (MSP) will commence on Friday at 1,400 centers across the state. He urged all concerned officials to carry out the soybean procurement process with sensitivity. Additionally, the state government will procure soybean beyond the quantity determined by the central government.
The Chief Minister stated that from September 25 to October 20, the registration of farmers on the e-procurement portal was conducted, with 344,000 farmers successfully registered. He also mentioned that payments for soybean procured at the MSP will be made to farmers online. In Madhya Pradesh, soybean procurement will take place in all districts except for Katni, Mandla, Balaghat, Datia, Bhind, Sidhi, and Singrauli.
The deadline for soybean procurement at the MSP is set for December 31, 2024, with the MSP fixed at ₹4,892 per quintal. Officials have been instructed to ensure the procurement of soybean of average good quality. It has also been directed that relevant officials and staff should be present at the procurement centers to facilitate a smooth and organized procurement process.
For the first time in the state, soybean procurement is being conducted under the Price Support Scheme (PSS). The Agriculture Department is designated as the nodal department, while Markfed has been identified as the state procurement agency. The e-procurement portal will be utilized for the procurement of soybean, allowing farmers to receive payments online for their produce.
