What is the Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana

The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has announced the launch of the Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana. Under this scheme, the government will provide farmers and livestock breeders with 25 indigenous breed cows to establish dairy farms. This initiative aims to promote indigenous breeds, strengthen the economic position of livestock breeders, and bring a white revolution in milk production.

Grant Amount Under the Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana:

To make farmers self-reliant and increase their income, the UP government has initiated the Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana. Alongside this, the Nand Baba Dugdh Mission and the Chief Minister’s Swadeshi Cow Conservation Scheme will also be launched. The state government will set up dairy farms for livestock breeders to rear 25 advanced indigenous breed cows. Beneficiaries will receive a maximum grant of Rs 31,25,000.

Benefits of the Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana:

  • Only local livestock breeders and farmers of the state will benefit from this scheme.
  • Beneficiaries will receive 25 advanced indigenous breed cows from other states, subsidized by the UP government.
  • Farmers can double their income by producing more milk from these cows.
  • Regular vaccinations will be provided to prevent health issues and diseases in the cows.
  • The scheme aims to empower and make livestock breeders self-reliant, increasing the population of indigenous cows in the state.
  • The scheme will create more employment opportunities within the state.
  • It will encourage others in the state to establish dairy farms.
  • The state government has sanctioned Rs 1000 crore for the development of livestock farmers under this scheme.

Eligibility Criteria for the Scheme:

  • Applicants must be native residents of Uttar Pradesh.
  • Applicants’ Aadhar cards must be linked to their bank accounts.
  • Only registered farmers of Uttar Pradesh are eligible.
  • Applicants should have at least 3 years of experience in cattle rearing.
  • Ear tagging of cattle is mandatory.
  • 0.5 acres of land is needed to set up the unit.
  • Beneficiaries should have 1.5 acres of land for cattle fodder.
  • The land can be ancestral or leased for a minimum of 7 years.
  • Beneficiaries of the previously operated Kamdhenu, Mini Kamdhenu, and Micro Kamdhenu schemes are not eligible.

How to Apply for the Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana

The UP government has announced the Nandini Krishak Samriddhi Yojana to benefit livestock breeders in the state. Applications can be submitted both online and offline. Beneficiaries will be selected through an e-lottery organized by a committee chaired by the Chief Development Officer. Livestock breeders of Uttar Pradesh can apply for the scheme through the official website (http://www.animalhusb.upsdc.gov.in/).
