The Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying (DAHD), under the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, is organizing "National Milk Day" on November 26, 2024, at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi. The event commemorates the 103rd birth anniversary of Dr. Verghese Kurien, fondly known as the "Father of the White Revolution in India." It aims to highlight the contributions of the dairy sector to India's economy and nutritional security.
Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, will preside over the event as the Chief Guest, along with Ministers of State for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel and Shri George Kurian, along with other dignitaries.
For the first time, special awards in all categories will be presented to winners from the North Eastern Region. Some of the awardees will share their experiences, shedding light on best practices, innovations, and sustainable approaches in the dairy sector.
