Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced that various crafts from the state will be exhibited and sold at the upcoming India International Trade Fair in Kolkata. Small entrepreneurs and artisans associated with cottage industries will be provided with facilities for online sales of their products. Additionally, the Department of Cottage and Village Industries has started utilizing online platforms like Amazon and Flipkart, along with the development of its own portal.

INR 11.82 Crore Sales with Mrignayani Emporium

Over the last six months, sales worth INR 11.82 crore were achieved through the Mrignayani Emporium and fairs held across the state. Small entrepreneurs will be provided with the opportunity to sell and export such products both within Madhya Pradesh and abroad. Facilities similar to Delhi Haat are being developed at Bhopal Haat. Weekly women’s markets will also be organized at Bhopal Haat and other locations in the state to provide female entrepreneurs the platform to sell their various products. While reviewing the schemes of the Cottage and Village Industries Department, Dr. Yadav also received an update on the establishment of Unity Mall in Ujjain as a one-stop marketplace for the promotion and sale of One District-One Product, GI products, handicrafts, and other local items.

New Opportunities for Bamboo Producers and Incense Stick Manufacturing

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav emphasized that the Department of Cottage and Village Industries should also promote bamboo producers and cottage industries like incense stick manufacturing. Districts like Sagar have long been important centers for incense stick production. Dr. Yadav stated that the availability of bamboo should be ensured to revive these cottage industries. He further directed that intensive bamboo plantation be carried out along riverbanks in districts where bamboo production is low. This will not only help prevent soil erosion but will also enhance bamboo production. Efforts are being made to ensure that small entrepreneurs receive maximum benefit from loan and grant schemes for the development of their businesses.
