Ministry's Significant Step for Youth Empowerment, Bringing 3,000 Young Minds Together on a National Platform

India’s youth represent the nation's greatest strength. Their energy and talent are propelling Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of making India a developed nation by 2047. To harness this potential, the Ministry of Youth Affairs has redefined the National Youth Festival by introducing the ‘Viksit Bharat Yuva Neta Samvad’ (Developed India Youth Leaders Dialogue). This transformative initiative aims to channel the collective power of young individuals and make them active contributors to the nation's growth.

National Youth Festival 2025 Announcement:

On November 18, 2024, the Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, announced the restructuring of the National Youth Festival 2025. Scheduled to take place on January 11–12, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, this event aims to foster youth leadership and provide them with a powerful platform to showcase their potential.

Developed India 2047: A Roadmap for the Nation’s Future:

The Developed India 2047 initiative envisions transforming India into a developed nation by the 100th anniversary of its independence. The roadmap focuses on inclusive growth, sustainable progress, and efficient governance, with youth participation as a core element. Platforms like ‘Voice of Youth’ will enable young people to connect their creativity, energy, and ideas with the nation’s developmental goals, fostering innovation, self-reliance, and progress.

Objectives of the National Youth Festival:

  1. Promoting Youth Leadership in Governance: Aligning with the Prime Minister’s Independence Day address, which called for the active engagement of 100,000 young individuals in governance-related initiatives.

  2. Ensuring Youth Participation: Creating a transparent and democratic selection process to involve youth meaningfully in building a developed India.

Developed India Youth Leaders Dialogue: A National Platform: The Developed India Youth Leaders Dialogue will bring together 3,000 young individuals from across the country during the National Youth Festival 2025. Participants will be selected from three key categories:

  1. Participants of the Developed India Challenge.
  2. Winners from district- and state-level youth festivals, which include art, science exhibitions, cultural programs, and speech competitions.
  3. Young icons excelling in fields such as entrepreneurship, sports, agriculture, and technology.

Four-Phase Competition Process:

  1. Developed India Quiz: A digital quiz on India’s historic achievements will be conducted on the MY Bharat platform from November 25 to December 5, 2024, for participants aged 15–29.
  2. Essay/Blog Writing: Winners of the first phase will submit essays on topics such as ‘Technology for a Developed India’ and ‘Youth for Developed India’.
  3. State-Level Presentations: Selected participants from the second phase will present their ideas at the state level, with further selection for national-level competitions.
  4. National Competition: State-level winners will compete during the National Youth Festival on January 11–12, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. The final winners will have the opportunity to present their ideas to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
