Poultry farmers often face challenges related to the well-being of their livestock, particularly issues such as diseases and the need for attention during colder seasons, which can impact milk production. As the weather shifts and temperatures rise, cows and buffaloes often witness a decrease in their milk yield due to the adverse effects of the heat. This decline in milk production can have negative consequences on the income of livestock keepers. To tackle this issue, we will discuss a remedy today aimed at boosting milk production in livestock, and it can be easily prepared at home, ensuring the overall health of the animals.

Positive Impact of Cowpeas:

Farmers can introduce cowpeas into the diet of their livestock as a natural remedy. Cowpeas are entirely natural and do not involve the use of any chemicals. It is believed that incorporating cowpeas into the diet enhances the milk-producing capacity of buffaloes and cows. Importantly, this remedy is considered free of side effects. Scientists also endorse the effectiveness of cowpeas for livestock. According to them, cowpeas, being rich in protein and fiber, stand out as the most effective remedy for dairy animals. The increased content of protein and fiber prompts cows and buffaloes to yield more milk.

A Potent Medication:

Farmers have an alternative in the form of a pressed ball, along with the option of administering mustard oil, to enhance milk production. For this, farmers can blend 300 grams of mustard oil with an equal amount of wheat flour to create a ball. These balls can then be provided to the livestock. As a result, cows and buffaloes are likely to increase their milk yield after consuming these balls. To prepare the balls, combine 300 grams of mustard oil with 300 grams of wheat flour and shape them into balls. These should be given to the livestock after they have consumed their regular feed and water.

Decreased Milk Yield Due to Heat:

Experts note that livestock become irritable in hot weather, accompanied by a weakened digestive system. Consequently, they tend to consume less feed, leading to a reduction in milk production. While some farmers resort to oxytocin injections to boost the milk yield of their livestock, they should be aware of the adverse effects of this practice on animal health. The government has also enforced a ban on oxytocin injections in the country. Hence, it is crucial for farmers to explore natural and harmless alternatives to ensure the well-being of their livestock.
