Odisha government has taken an important decision for paddy farmers. The government has announced that farmers will receive an additional ₹800 per quintal as a bonus. Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo confirmed that this amount will be given to farmers as input assistance. Let’s take a closer look at the key details of this initiative.
The state government has declared that, in addition to the central government’s Minimum Support Price (MSP) of ₹2,300 per quintal, Odisha farmers will now receive a total of ₹3,100 per quintal, including the bonus. This bonus will be transferred to the farmers' accounts during a state-level farmers' conference to be held in Sohela, Bargarh district, on December 8. The government approved this decision in its first Cabinet meeting.
KV Singh Deo highlighted that Odisha’s farmers frequently face the challenges of floods, cyclones, droughts, and pest attacks. This financial assistance will help farmers cover the costs of farming, and the bonus is an important step toward improving their economic condition.
