According to agricultural scientists, by using improved varieties, seed treatment, and modern techniques, summer moong crop can yield 10-12 quintals per hectare.
Yellow Mosaic Virus Control: Before sowing, treat seeds with Thiamethoxam 30 FS (10 ml per kg of seed) or Imidacloprid 48 FS (1.25 ml per kg of seed). Remove and destroy infected plants immediately. Avoid cultivating okra, brinjal, and tomato near the moong crop. Do not use synthetic pyrethroid insecticides. In the early stages, spray Thiamethoxam 25 WG or Acetamiprid 20 SP at 60 grams per acre.
Moong crops require 20 kg nitrogen, 50 kg phosphorus, and 20 kg potash per hectare.
Additionally, use DAP (108 kg per hectare), MOP (33 kg per hectare), NPK (12:32:16) – 156 kg per hectare, NPK (20:20:0:13) – 250 kg per hectare and MOP (34 kg per hectare).
Pest and Disease Control: Control of Sucking Pests: Spray Fipronil SC (150 ml per hectare) or Fipronil 40% WG + Imidacloprid 40% WG (150 g per hectare) or Acetamiprid 20 SP (125 g per hectare).
Caterpillar Control: Apply Novaluron 5.25% SC + Indoxacarb 5.50% SC (850 ml per hectare) or Emamectin Benzoate 5% + Lufenuron 40% (75 g per hectare) or Broflanilide 300% SC (42-62 g per hectare).
