Promotion of Organic and Natural Farming, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has emphasized the development of agro-based industries and organic farming in the state. Ideal districts will be established for natural agricultural products, and solar pumps will be provided to farmers practicing organic farming.
Dr. Yadav stated that to minimize the harmful effects of chemical farming, it is essential to promote organic and natural farming. A target has been set to cultivate organic crops on 1 lakh acres, with plans to expand this to 5 lakh hectares. To ensure better pricing for organic products, organic markets will be set up, along with the development of ideal districts and blocks dedicated to organic farming. Additionally, solar pumps will be distributed to organic farmers.
Dr. Yadav highlighted that the global market is increasingly looking towards Madhya Pradesh for pollution-free and natural agricultural products. While modern techniques must be used to boost agricultural production, maintaining environmental balance is equally important. This year has been declared as the "Year of Industry," with a special focus on the development of agro-based industries. In districts with low industrial growth, agro-industries will be established. The state also aims to increase its share in the country's dairy production from 9% to 20%.
The government is making extensive efforts to enhance farmers' income by providing transport subsidies for vegetable exports. To promote organic farming, agreements (MoUs) have been signed with nine service providers. Additionally, to tackle the issue of stubble burning, more than 42,500 agricultural tools have been distributed to help farmers manage crop residues in the fields.
Discussion Among Experts and Farmers: During the workshop, agricultural scientists, experts, progressive farmers, and government officials participated in discussions aimed at strengthening the state's organic farming policies.
