Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has announced that the state's efforts to promote industry and investment will result in significant employment opportunities for a large number of people. The Regional Industry Conclave held in different divisions of the state in 2024, along with interactive sessions conducted in various cities across the country, has created a favorable environment for industrial growth. The state is expected to receive investments worth approximately ₹2.75 lakh crore. The year 2025 will be celebrated as 'Industry Year' in the state.
Panchayat and Rural Development and Labor Minister Shri Prahlad Singh Patel participated in the Farmer Spiritual Conference and Indian Agricultural Philosophy and Comprehensive Village Development Program. Minister Patel shared that when he was 10 years old, soybean farming began in Gotegaon Tehsil. He stressed on reducing the use of chemical fertilizers and promoting organic farming. He further explained that while irrigation facilities are essential, the selection of the right crops is even more important. He said that we have focused more on water demanding crops like sugarcane, rice and wheat. We should think about what we will leave for the next generation. The temptation of higher crop yields has forced us to make several mistakes, he said.
The minister discussed the adverse effects of excessive water usage in farming and its impact on the water table. He said that today, coarse grains are being globally recognized as an ideal food. Crops like sorghum (jowar), pearl millet (bajra), foxtail millet (kutki), finger millet (ragi), and barnyard millet (kodo) require less water, and therefore, these crops should be prioritized. He also mentioned the challenge of certifying grains produced through organic and natural farming and stressed the need for district-level labs to evaluate these grains.
Honoring Farmers Practicing Natural Farming: The minister honored farmers practicing natural farming in the district by presenting them with shawls and certificates. On this occasion, the guests flagged off a "Drug-Free Awareness Vehicle," which will travel across various areas of the district for 15 days, educating people about the harmful effects of substance abuse.
