Currently, pulses, oilseeds, and vegetable crops are being affected by sap-sucking pests, aphids, mosquitoes, leaf miners, and small to large caterpillars. Using organic solutions is essential to control these pests effectively while preserving environmental health. Agricultural scientists recommend the following methods.
1. Neem Leaves for Pest Control:
Ingredients: 5 kg fresh neem leaves or dried neem seeds, 5 liters cow urine, 1 kg cow dung (from native cows)
Method of Preparation:
- Grind neem leaves and mix them in 100 liters of water.
- Add cow urine and cow dung to the mixture and stir with a wooden stick.
- Cover the mixture and let it ferment for 48 hours, stirring it 2-3 times a day.
- After 48 hours, strain the solution and spray it over one acre of crops.
2. Control of Large Caterpillars and Grubs:
Ingredients: 10 liters cow urine, 3 kg neem leaves, 2 kg each of karanj (Pongamia), custard apple, and white thorn apple leaves
Method of Preparation:
- Grind all the leaves and mix them into the cow urine.
- Boil the mixture until it gets 3-4 boils, then let it cool.
- Allow the solution to rest for 48 hours, then strain it.
- Mix 2-2.5 liters of the solution in 100 liters of water and spray it over one acre.
3. Stem and Stalk Pest Management:
Ingredients:
- 10 liters cow urine

4. Strengthening Crops with Panchgavya:
Ingredients: Cow dung, clarified butter (ghee), jaggery, milk, and curd
Method of Preparation:
- Mix cow dung, ghee, and jaggery thoroughly, then add the remaining ingredients.
- Ferment the mixture for 7-10 days.
- Mix 3 liters of Panchgavya in 100 liters of water and spray it over one acre of crops.
5. Dashparni Extract for Large Caterpillar and Grub Control:
Ingredients: Cow dung and cow urine, Turmeric, ginger, dry ginger powder (sonth), tobacco, and chili powder
Method of Preparation:

- Mix 6-8 liters of the fermented extract in 200 liters of water and spray it over one acre of crops.
Precautions:
