Record purchase of paddy and soybean in Madhya Pradesh, More than 7 lakh farmers registered

The Madhya Pradesh government has announced that the procurement of paddy and soybean is progressing rapidly across the state. Soybean procurement under the Minimum Support Price (MSP) program began on October 25 and will continue until December 31. To date, over 77,000 farmers have sold 2.04 lakh metric tons of soybean. The daily arrival of soybean at procurement centers is approximately 20,000 metric tons.

The Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection, Govind Singh Rajput, stated that the procurement of paddy commenced on December 2. So far, around 2,810 metric tons of paddy have been purchased from 428 farmers. To facilitate the process, the state has set up 1,184 procurement centers. Nearly 7.68 lakh farmers have registered online to sell their paddy. By December 4, more than 97,000 farmers had booked slots at procurement centers to sell their produce.

Rice procurement has been completed in these districts:

Madhya Pradesh's Balaghat district, 859 metric tons, Satna 519 metric tons, Singrauli 252 metric tons, Mandla 205 metric tons, Betul 173 metric tons, Anuppur 171 metric tons, Katni 149 metric tons, Rewa 135 metric tons, Maihar 111 metric tons, Sagar 61 metric tons, Shahdol 43 metric tons, Sidhi 42 metric tons, Narsinghpur 30 metric tons, Narmadapuram 28 metric tons, Panna 25 metric tons, Damoh 6 metric tons, and Mauganj 1 metric ton of rice have been procured.
