The "Formation and Promotion of 10,000 FPOs" scheme, 9,268 FPOs have been registered so far. Farmers' organizations often face challenges related to input supply, credit, and marketing. This initiative provides management assistance, equity grants, credit guarantee funds, and marketing support through Community-Based Business Organizations (CBBOs).
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PMKMY): Launched in 2019, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Maandhan Yojana (PMKMY) allows farmers to enroll in a pension scheme until the age of 40. Upon reaching 60 years of age, eligible farmers receive a monthly pension of ₹3,000. As of November 25, 2024, a total of 24.66 lakh farmers have enrolled in this scheme, although they are yet to start receiving pension benefits. These initiatives are crucial steps toward enhancing farmers' incomes, promoting organic farming, and making the agricultural sector self-reliant.
