The state government has released ₹300 crore as the first installment for eligible beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin (PMAY-G).
The primary goal of this scheme is to provide permanent housing to economically weaker sections. Many poor families struggle to build homes due to financial constraints. However, this initiative is now turning their dream into reality. The government has directly transferred the funds via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to the beneficiaries' bank accounts, enabling them to begin construction immediately.
As of now, the Bihar government has transferred the first installment to 75,000 eligible families under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Gramin. The launch of this initiative was led by Bihar’s Rural Development Minister, Shravan Kumar, who reiterated the government’s commitment to providing permanent housing for every poor household. The announcement has brought immense joy to the beneficiaries, many of whom had been dreaming of their own home for years.
