The Central Government has set the date for the release of the 17th installment, which Prime Minister Narendra Modi will transfer on June 18.

What is the PM Kisan Scheme:

The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme is the world's largest direct benefit transfer scheme. It is a central government initiative aimed at providing financial assistance to small and marginal farmers across India. Under this scheme, each beneficiary farmer receives an annual amount of INR 6,000, disbursed in three installments.

When Was the PM Kisan Scheme Launched:

The PM Kisan Scheme was launched on February 24, 2019. It is designed to provide economic support to all landholding farmers to meet their financial needs. Beneficiary farmer families receive INR 6,000 per year in three installments of INR 2,000 each, transferred directly to their bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) every four months.

When Will the 17th Installment Be Released: So far, the Indian government has released 16 installments of the PM Kisan Scheme, with the last one being announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a special event in Maharashtra. Millions of farmers are now awaiting the 17th installment. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the 17th installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme on June 18 in Varanasi. During this event, INR 20,000 crore will be transferred to farmers' accounts across the country through DBT.

Prime Minister Modi's Commitment to Farmers: After taking the oath of office for the third time, Prime Minister Narendra Modi's first official act was to sign the file for releasing the 17th installment of the PM Kisan Nidhi. The Prime Minister stated that the government's primary duty is to ensure the welfare and development of farmers. Additionally, on June 18, 2024, Prime Minister Modi will visit Varanasi to distribute certificates to over 30,000 self-help groups, known as "Krishi Sakhi." Approximately 2.5 crore farmers from across the country will participate in this program. More than 732 Krishi Vigyan Kendras, over 100,000 Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies, and nearly 500,000 Common Service Centers will also take part in this event.
