The Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare has announced that the 19th installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme will be released by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 24, 2025, from Bhagalpur, Bihar. Under this scheme, eligible farmers receive annual financial assistance of ₹6,000. So far, ₹3.46 lakh crore has been transferred to over 11 crore farmers across 18 installments.

Major Benefits for Bihar:

Kisan Samman Ceremony to Be Held Nationwide:

A grand "Kisan Samman Samaroh" will be organized in Bhagalpur, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Governor of Bihar, the Chief Minister, and several Union Ministers. The event will also take place at the district, block, and gram panchayat levels across the country.

Direct Digital Transfer for Transparency: This installment will provide ₹22,000 crore directly to 9.8 crore farmers, including 2.41 crore women farmers, through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), ensuring transparency by eliminating middlemen.

Prime Minister’s Additional Announcements: During the event, Prime Minister Modi will also launch various initiatives, including the establishment of the 10,000th Farmer Producer Organization (FPO) in Bihar, the creation of a Makhana Board, the inauguration of a dairy plant, a livestock center, and infrastructure projects such as railway and road developments. These projects aim to boost agricultural growth and benefit farmers and traders.

Government’s Focus on Farmer Welfare: The Minister emphasized that the PM-Kisan scheme has been a game-changer for small farmers, enabling them to purchase seeds and fertilizers while reducing their dependence on loans. With the release of the 19th installment, the total financial assistance under the scheme will reach ₹3.68 lakh crore. This program will be broadcast live through 731 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), over 5 lakh Common Service Centers (CSCs), and digital platforms, with around 2.5 crore farmers expected to participate.
