Farmers eagerly awaiting the 19th installment under the PM Kisan Yojana have good news coming their way. Millions of farmers across the country are looking forward to receiving the next installment. Under the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, eligible farmers receive an annual financial aid of ₹6,000. In Madhya Pradesh, farmers effectively benefit from ₹12,000 per year through various agricultural assistance programs.
India is an agricultural nation, with the livelihoods of millions dependent on farming. To support farmers financially and boost their income, the government launched this initiative. As part of this effort, the Government of India introduced the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana in 2019. Through this scheme, small and marginal farmers receive direct financial assistance of ₹6,000 annually from the government.
The financial aid of ₹6,000 is disbursed in three equal installments each year. On October 5, 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 18th installment of the scheme in Washim district, Maharashtra. Over four months have passed since then, and millions of farmers are now eagerly awaiting the 19th installment. To address this, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced that the 19th installment will be disbursed on February 24, 2025.
Who is Eligible for the Scheme? The PM Kisan Yojana is only available to farmers who do not hold a government job or pay income tax. This scheme is applicable across all states and union territories in India. However, the benefit is limited to one member per family; other family members are not eligible. Additionally, farmers who have not completed the e-KYC verification process will be excluded from receiving future installments.
