Post Wheat harvest Green manure used in fields can contribute to increasing farmers yield

Following the wheat harvest, farmers can rejuvenate their soil by planting green manure in fallow fields. Green manure not only enriches soil fertility but also amplifies the yield potential of forthcoming Kharif crops. Implementing green manure after the wheat harvest not only nourishes the soil but also augments the productivity of future crops. How to Produce Green Manure:

As per Dr. N.C. Tripathi, Director of the Agriculture Science Center in Niyamattapur, here are the steps to produce green manure:

Field Preparation:

1. Begin by ensuring the field is adequately moistened through watering.
2. Thoroughly plow the field using a disc harrow.
3. Following plowing, sow 20 to 25 kilograms of dhaincha seeds per acre.
4. After sowing, level the field using a roller.
5. Irrigate the field 15 to 20 days post-sowing.

Sowing Dhaincha:

1. Green manure derived from dhaincha is ready within 40 to 45 days.
2. Upon readiness, incorporate the dhaincha thoroughly into the field using a disc harrow.
3. After incorporation, flood the field with water once again.

Sowing Urad, Moong, and Lobia:

1. If opting for urad, moong, or lobia as green manure, sow 8 to 10 kilograms of seeds per acre.
2. After field leveling, irrigate at 20-day intervals.
3. Upon crop maturation, segregate the pods and blend the remaining plants into the soil using a disc harrow.
