Potato prices today in Madhya Pradesh
Potato prices today in Madhya Pradesh

With the onset of summer, both the supply and demand for potatoes are witnessing noticeable changes in the mandis of Madhya Pradesh. Several key markets saw good arrivals today, maintaining a vibrant trade environment. However, in some areas, oversupply led to a drop in prices. This makes it crucial for farmers and traders to stay informed about mandi trends to ensure they sell their produce at the most profitable rates. As market patterns may shift further in the coming days, keeping track of today’s mandi rates and latest price updates is now more important than ever.

Potato Prices Today in Madhya Pradesh:

Potato Prices in Indore Mandi: Indore witnessed a heavy arrival of local potatoes today — 71.05 tons in total. Prices ranged between ₹1476 and ₹1573 per quintal, with the modal rate settling at ₹1500. The demand for good-quality potatoes remains steady here, and prices are considered stable and fair.

Potato Prices in Agar Mandi: The total arrival stood at 4.8 tons. Prices remained modest, ranging from ₹1000 to ₹1200 per quintal. The modal rate was ₹1100, indicating that most trades happened near the higher end of the price spectrum.

Potato Prices in Manawar (F&V) Mandi:

Only 0.6 tons of potatoes arrived today, yet the prices were decent, ranging from ₹1050 to ₹1250 per quintal. The modal rate was ₹1150 — a satisfactory figure for local farmers despite the low arrival.

Potato Prices in Morena Mandi: A significant arrival of 94.5 tons was recorded here. However, the rates were relatively low, ranging between ₹800 and ₹1000 per quintal, with a modal rate of ₹900. This drop is likely due to oversupply putting pressure on the prices.

Potato Prices in Pipariya (F&V) Mandi: With 4.5 tons arriving, this mandi witnessed a wide price variation — from ₹800 to ₹1700 per quintal. The modal rate was ₹1300. The diversity in pricing reflects variation in the quality of produce.

Potato Prices in Ujjain Mandi: Ujjain reported an arrival of 34.64 tons. Prices were on the lower side — between ₹617 and ₹1232 per quintal, with a modal rate of just ₹700. This suggests a bulk supply of low-priced potatoes.

Suggestions for Farmers:

  1. Grade and Sort for Better Prices: As seen in Pipariya and Indore, higher quality potatoes are fetching better rates. Proper sorting and grading of your produce can help you earn more.
  2. Avoid Low-Rate Mandis: Prices in places like Morena and Ujjain are under pressure. If feasible, consider sending your produce to more rewarding mandis such as Indore or Pipariya.
  3. Watch the Modal Rate: The modal price reflects the rate at which most transactions occurred. Planning your sale based on this can lead to better profits.
  4. Focus on Direct Marketing: If you have access to direct market channels or wholesale buyers, consider bypassing intermediaries to get higher returns for your produce.
