Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, ₹22,800 Crore approved for 10 Lakh houses in Madhya Pradesh

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0 has been launched in Madhya Pradesh. Under this scheme, 10 lakh houses will be built for the underprivileged beneficiaries in the state. This initiative is especially beneficial for those families who have not been able to avail the benefits of the housing scheme until now.

Application Process for Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana 2.0:

The Urban Development and Housing Department has provided information regarding the application process for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0. Interested applicants can obtain this information from the nearest urban local bodies. Detailed information and the application process are also available on the Unified Web Portal of the central government, PMAYMIS. The scheme gives special priority to vulnerable and marginalized groups, including beneficiaries of PM-Svanidhi, building construction workers, Anganwadi workers, artisans under PM-Vishwakarma Yojana, sanitation workers, and families living in slums.

8.25 Lakh Houses Completed in Madhya Pradesh: In the first phase of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0, 8.25 lakh houses have been successfully completed in Madhya Pradesh. A total of 9.45 lakh houses were approved in the first phase.

₹22,800 Crore Released:

The first phase of the scheme, the central and state governments together sanctioned ₹23,600 crore, of which ₹22,800 crore has already been released to the beneficiaries. An amount of ₹3,900 crore has been provided as interest subsidy under the Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS).

Target of 1 Crore Houses: Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0, the target is to construct 1 crore houses across the country, with Madhya Pradesh's share being 10 lakh houses. The aim of this scheme is to provide affordable housing to the underprivileged sections at minimal cost and to empower every family to become self-reliant.

The Urban Development Department of Madhya Pradesh has given special emphasis to the effective implementation and widespread dissemination of information about the scheme to ensure that as many eligible beneficiaries as possible can avail the benefits.
