The Maha Kumbh, one of the world’s largest spiritual gatherings, is scheduled to take place in Prayagraj for 45 days, from January 13 to February 26, 2025. This period coincides with several key occasions, including Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, Maha Kumbh, and Republic Day, creating a unique “Triveni” (convergence) of opportunities to connect with India's growth and heritage.

Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Uttar Pradesh Government is undertaking extensive preparations to make Maha Kumbh 2025 a grand, safe, and spiritually enriching event. Grand Preparations and Modern Facilities:

1. Temporary City Setup: Maha Kumbh Nagar is being developed into a temporary city with thousands of tents and shelters.
2. Luxury Tent City: Operated by IRCTC, this facility offers deluxe tents and villas with modern amenities.
3. Road and Bridge Development: Renovation and beautification of roads are nearing completion, with 28 out of 30 pontoon bridges already operational.
4. Signage Installation: 800 multilingual signages in Hindi, English, and regional languages are being installed, with over 400 completed.
5. Walkways: Over 2,69,000 checkered plates have been laid for pedestrian paths.
6. Public Utilities: Mobile toilets and a robust waste management system are in place.

Advanced Security Measures:

1. AI-Powered Monitoring: Crowd density monitoring with Artificial Intelligence (AI).
2. CCTV and Drone Surveillance: Deployment of 2,700 AI-enabled CCTV cameras and drones for aerial monitoring.
3. Facial Recognition Technology: Implemented at entry points to enhance safety.
4. Fire Safety Budget: ₹131 crore allocated for fire safety, including four Articulating Water Towers (AWTs) capable of extinguishing fires up to 35 meters high and equipped with video and thermal imaging capabilities.
5. Underwater Surveillance: Drones capable of diving 100 meters will ensure 24x7 surveillance at the Sangam area.
6. Cybersecurity: A team of 56 cyber experts will monitor online threats, with cyber help desks established at all police stations.

Health Services:

1. Temporary Hospitals: Equipped with surgical and diagnostic facilities, including "Bhishma Cube," capable of treating 200 people simultaneously.
2. Netra Kumbh: Eye checkups for over 5 lakh pilgrims and distribution of 3 lakh eyeglasses are planned, aiming for a Guinness World Record.
3. Eye Donation: Encouraging donations to reduce blindness among 1.5 crore visually impaired individuals in India.

Environmental Sustainability:

1. River Cleanliness: Installation of three temporary sewage treatment plants to ensure clean water in the Ganga and Yamuna rivers.
2. Eco-Friendly Initiatives: Use of solar lighting, promotion of reusable materials, and a ban on single-use plastics.

Digital and Tourism Initiatives:

1. Mobile App: A dedicated app will provide real-time updates on crowd density, emergency alerts, directions, and accommodation details.
2. Wi-Fi Zones: Temporary Wi-Fi zones will ensure connectivity for visitors.
3. Tourism and Cultural Events: Uttar Pradesh Pavilion will span 5 acres, showcasing tourism circuits (e.g., Ramayana Circuit, Krishna-Braj Circuit) along with cultural performances, exhibitions, and handicrafts.
