The Bihar government has also decided to increase ethanol production as part of the continuous efforts of the central government. The government plans to emphasize maize cultivation in all districts, with the goal of planting 100 percent hybrid seeds. An official from the Bihar Agriculture Department has stated that the government's plan is to expand the area of maize cultivation in all 38 districts of the state. To achieve this, several important steps are being taken by the government. The government hopes that maize will play a significant role in increasing ethanol production. To achieve this, the Bihar government has set a target of planting 'Sankar' hybrid maize seeds in the Rabi season with the aim of achieving 100 percent hybrid seed sowing. The preparation is underway for 100 percent hybrid maize seed sowing in the Rabi season. In addition to subsidies on seeds, other facilities will be provided to farmers for this purpose.

According to the Bihar Agriculture Department, this year the target for maize cultivation in 1.50 lakh acres of land has been set, with the goal of producing up to 12,000 quintals of maize. The Agriculture Department has issued instructions to all agricultural science centers, agricultural universities, agricultural advisors, and agricultural coordinators to raise awareness among farmers. It is noted that the majority of maize cultivation is done by farmers in the northern and eastern plains regions. Maize is considered one of the major crops of the Rabi season.
