Shivraj government's women empowerment schemes

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that numerous schemes have been implemented in the state to empower women and make them self-reliant. He highlighted that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, families from all sections of society have been provided with permanent housing, household toilets, and clean drinking water through the Nal-Jal Yojana. In addition, the Ujjwala Yojana has pledged to make kitchens smoke-free. All of these schemes have been efficiently implemented in the state. Furthermore, financial assistance has been provided to women, connecting them with self-employment opportunities, giving them a chance to become "Lakhpati Didis" (Millionaire Sisters).
Historic Budget Allocation for Women's Empowerment:
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav further emphasized that, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the government is working diligently to fulfill every promise related to women’s empowerment. For the financial year 2024-25, the state government has allocated ₹26,560 crore to the Department of Women and Child Development, with over ₹18,984 crore earmarked for the Ladli Behna Yojana.
Key Government Decisions in Favor of Women:
- The state government has provided stamp duty concessions for land, shop, and house registration in women's names.
- Under the Sanitation and Hygiene Scheme, ₹57.18 crore has been transferred to the bank accounts of over 1.9 million girls.
- Women in Madhya Pradesh benefit from 50% reservation in local elections and teacher recruitment, 33% in police recruitment, and 35% in other recruitment processes.
- To encourage women entrepreneurs, ₹275 crore has been provided to 850 MSME units as financial assistance.
- The Ladli Laxmi Yojana, aimed at promoting the education and future of girls, continues successfully, benefiting over 4.8 million girls.
- More than 4.2 million women beneficiaries have been registered under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana.
- A women’s helpline (181) and a child helpline (1098) have been established to support women affected by violence.
- One-stop centers have been set up in every district to assist women in distress.
- Under the Sashakt Vahini program, aimed at enhancing girls' skills, 128 girls have been selected for jobs in police and other government departments.
- More than 97,000 Anganwadi centers in the state are serving over 8.1 million children, pregnant and lactating mothers, and adolescent girls.
