Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela 2025: Showcasing New Crop Varieties and Advanced Agricultural Technologies

The Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela was held from February 22-24, 2025, featuring 79 high-yielding varieties of seven major agricultural crops, 11 new fruit varieties, and 31 vegetable varieties. Additionally, innovative technologies such as 18 biofertilizers and bioformulations, Soil Test Fertilizer Recommendation Meter, Zn-loaded nano clay polymer, SpeedySeed Viability Kit™, polymer composite seed coating for bruchid management, nanocellulose extracted from pummelo peel and rice husk, pea pod powder, overripe banana powder, and functionalized snack products were showcased. Eight newly developed agricultural tools and machinery were also showcased.

The event featured 245 exhibition stalls from public and private institutions, agricultural universities, Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), startups, and agri-entrepreneurs.

Key Highlights and Announcements:

1. Over 1,800 quintals of seeds of paddy, moong, pigeon pea, pearl millet, and other crops were provided to farmers at subsidized rates.
2. Farmers received on-the-spot agricultural advisory services.
3. Extension literature on advanced agricultural technologies was distributed among stakeholders.
4. The initiative "Krishi Chaupal – Vigyan se Kisan Tak" was promoted.
5. IARI award-winning and innovative farmers will be engaged in technology dissemination programs.

This event played a crucial role in promoting the latest agricultural innovations and providing farmers with advanced and sustainable farming solutions.
