The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for the southern regions of India for today, May 16. The forecast predicts thunderstorms, lightning, strong winds (reaching speeds of 50-60 km/h), and rain across several areas including Coastal Karnataka, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Kerala.
IMD has warned of heavy rainfall in specific areas today, particularly in Arunachal Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Mahe.
Chennai weather:Today, Chennai is expected to experience thunderstorms and rain, with the maximum temperature reaching 35 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 27 degrees Celsius. This rainy weather is likely to continue for the next 3-4 days.
Bengaluru weather: The weather in Bengaluru will be partly cloudy with chances of thunderstorms and rain. The maximum temperature will be around 33 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will be 23 degrees Celsius. Rain is expected to continue throughout the week.
Hyderabad weather: Hyderabad will see cloudy skies with thunderstorms and rain. The maximum temperature is predicted to be 37 degrees Celsius, and the minimum will be 25 degrees Celsius.
Thiruvananthapuram weather: In Thiruvananthapuram, the sky will remain cloudy throughout the day with expectations of thunderstorms, rain, and lightning. The maximum temperature will reach 33 degrees Celsius, while the minimum will be 26 degrees Celsius. This rainy pattern is expected to continue throughout the week.
