Today, Delhi is expected to experience rainfall, adding relief to the ongoing heatwave conditions in several cities. The weather pattern has shifted towards rain in the midst of the summer season. Earlier predictions from the meteorological department indicated above-average rainfall this year due to the influences of El Niño and La Niña, and now the situation of rainfall has manifested across northern India.
According to meteorological forecasts, the spell of rain is expected to continue in Delhi from today until April 21. The evening of April 19 is anticipated to bring thunderclouds accompanied by strong winds and rainfall. It is estimated that this rainfall might lead to a decrease in temperature by about 2 to 4 degrees Celsius and create a humid atmosphere. Presently, the maximum temperature in Delhi ranges between 36 to 38 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is around 21 degrees Celsius. Generally, these weather today changes are expected to provide some relief from the heat in Delhi. Additionally, on April 20, clouds are expected to persist in Delhi, along with the possibility of strong winds and dust storms.
Chance of Rain in Other States: According to the meteorological department, moderate to light rainfall is expected in several regions of northern India today, including Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, and Haryana. Furthermore, heavy rainfall and snowfall are expected in northern plains such as Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, and Muzaffarabad on April 19, 2024.
