In the coming days, Northwest and Central India are poised for a refreshing bout of rainfall, potentially accompanied by isolated thunderstorms and hailstorms in East Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh on January 8th and 9th.
The forecast also predicts light isolated rainfall and snowfall over Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand on January 9th. Meanwhile, isolated rainfall is expected over the plains of Northwest and Central India on the same day. Maharashtra is anticipated to experience light to moderate rainfall coupled with thunderstorms and lightning from January 8th to 10th. Similarly, Gujarat is likely to witness these weather conditions on January 8th and 9th.
East Rajasthan is on hailstorm alert for January 8th and 9th, while West Madhya Pradesh may experience isolated hailstorms on January 9th.
Dense Fog and Cold Conditions: In addition to the precipitation forecasts, dense fog and cold day warnings are in place for various regions. Dense to very dense fog conditions are expected in some parts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Bihar on January 8th and 9th, with subsequent isolated pockets experiencing dense fog for the next 24 hours.
Furthermore, dense fog is likely in Jammu division on January 9th, and in isolated pockets over Himachal Pradesh, north Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand on January 9th and 10th, followed by Odisha, West Bengal & Sikkim, Assam & Meghalaya, Mizoram & Tripura during January till 10-12 Punjab is anticipated to continue facing cold day to severe cold day conditions on January 8th and 9th, with improvement thereafter. Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi is expected to experience these conditions on January 8th, while isolated pockets of Rajasthan will be affected during January 8th-10th.
