To protect crops from stray and wild animals, the Rajasthan government is running a fencing scheme. The goal is to help farmers save their crops and reduce losses caused by animals. Now, the government has made some changes to the rules so that small and marginal farmers can also benefit from this scheme.
Earlier, to get benefits under the fencing scheme, a farmer needed at least 1.5 hectares of land in one place. But as per the new rules, even those who have 0.5 hectares (around 2 bighas) of land in one place can apply. This applies to both individual farmers and groups of farmers.
The state government is giving direct subsidy for installing fences:
How to Apply:
Interested and eligible farmers can apply online through the ‘Raj Kisan Sathi’ portal or visit their nearest e-Mitra center. They need to submit documents like a land map, land ownership (Jamabandi), Aadhaar card, and a certificate showing their farmer category.
Money Will Be Sent Directly to Farmers' Bank Accounts: Once the fencing work is completed, agriculture officers will visit the site for verification. After approval, the subsidy amount will be transferred directly to the farmer’s bank account through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer).
