New employment opportunities and direct benefits to unorganised workers through E-Shram and NCS portal

By November 26, 2024, more than 30.42 crore unorganized workers have been registered on the e-Shram portal. To provide various benefits to unorganized workers, the E-Shram portal has been integrated with several other portals and schemes:

Employment Opportunities through NCS Portal:

The E-Shram portal has been linked with the National Career Service (NCS) portal. Unorganized workers can register on the NCS platform using their Universal Account Number (UAN) and explore suitable job opportunities. A seamless registration option/link has been made available on the E-Shram portal for users to register on NCS effortlessly.

Simplified Pension Access through PM-SYM:

The E-Shram portal has also been integrated with the Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan (PM-SYM) scheme. This scheme is for unorganized workers aged 18-40 years, offering a monthly pension of ₹3,000/- after the age of 60. The government contributes 50% of the premium, while the worker bears the remaining cost.

A provision has been added to the E-Shram portal to include the family details of migrant workers for better assistance.

Assistance in Construction Workers’ Registration: The E-Shram portal now facilitates the sharing of construction workers’ data with states and union territories, aiding their registration with respective Building and Other Construction Workers (BoCW) boards.

Skill Development and Apprenticeship Opportunities: The portal has been integrated with the Skill India Digital platform to offer skill enhancement and apprenticeship opportunities to unorganized workers.

1. Integration with MyScheme Portal: E-Shram has been linked with the MyScheme portal, a platform providing a one-stop search and discovery solution for government schemes based on citizens' eligibility.
2. A One-Stop Solution for Unorganized Workers: The Ministry of Labor and Employment launched e-Shram as a "one-stop solution" as part of the budget announcement in October 2024. The portal provides access to various social security and welfare schemes under a single platform. It also enables workers to track the benefits received so far.

The E-Shram portal has been integrated with 12 schemes from various central ministries and departments, including:
