Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India’s solar energy production capacity has increased 32 times, making the country the third-largest solar energy producer in the world. Prime Minister Modi has set a target of generating 500 GW of renewable energy in India by 2030. To achieve this vision, Madhya Pradesh is making rapid strides in the solar energy sector. Over the past decade, the state’s renewable energy capacity has grown more than 14 times. The state government's strong policies, investor-friendly environment, and technological innovations are transforming Madhya Pradesh into the "Land blessed by the Sun."

Massive Investments in Renewable Energy:

At the Global Investors Summit (GIS) in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh received large-scale investment proposals under its Technology-Agnostic Renewable Energy Policy. Prime Minister Modi highlighted that in the past ten years, India’s renewable energy sector has attracted an investment of $70 billion, creating over 1 million jobs. The Madhya Pradesh government is attracting investments worth ₹5,21,279 crore in the renewable energy sector, which will generate 1,46,592 new employment opportunities.

Several leading companies, including Avaada Energy, MKC Infrastructure Limited, Axis Energy Venture, NSL Renewable Power Private Limited, Torrent Power, and Jindal India Renewable Energy, have submitted investment proposals at GIS-Bhopal.

Target of 20 GW Renewable Energy by 2030: The Madhya Pradesh government aims to increase the state's renewable energy production capacity to 20 GW (20,000 MW) by 2030. Currently, the state operates five major solar projects with a combined production capacity of 2.75 GW (2,750 MW).

Energy Self-Sufficiency for Farmers:

To promote additional income and energy independence for farmers, the Madhya Pradesh government is actively supporting the Pradhan Mantri KUSUM Scheme. Under the KUSUM-A scheme, projects with a total capacity of 1,490 MW have been approved, out of which 570 MW capacity projects have been selected, and 39 MW capacity projects have already been commissioned. Similarly, under the KUSUM-C scheme, projects with a total capacity of 3,000 MW have been approved, with 40 MW of solar plants already installed from the 529 MW sanctioned capacity.

Chief Minister Solar Pump Scheme: The state government has set a target of providing solar pumps to 3 million farmers over the next three years. This initiative will reduce energy costs for agricultural activities and increase farmers’ income.

PM-Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme: Prime Minister Modi has set a target of installing solar power plants in 10 million households across India by 2026. So far, over 1 million homes are already utilizing solar energy, and Madhya Pradesh is emerging as a leading state in implementing this scheme.

Madhya Pradesh Contribution to India’s Net Zero Carbon Goal: Madhya Pradesh is set to play a crucial role in helping India achieve its "Net Zero Carbon" target by 2070. In the coming years, the state will not only fulfill its own energy needs but also supply power to other states. With its growing impact in renewable energy, Madhya Pradesh is taking the lead in sustainable development and the green energy revolution.
