High Prices for Desi Tomatoes in Shadabad:

Shadabad mandi, the arrival of desi tomatoes was only 1 ton, but prices were significantly higher. The minimum price was ₹4100 per quintal, and the maximum price reached ₹4200 per quintal, with the average price standing at ₹4150 per quintal. However, prices skyrocketed, with the minimum price recorded at ₹6250 per quintal and the maximum at ₹7050 per quintal. The average (modal) price stood at ₹6700 per quintal. The sharp price hike is a clear indication of limited supply paired with strong demand for local tomatoes in this region, leading to significant profits for farmers.
