Sant Ravidas Self-Employment Scheme: Loans up to ₹50 Lakh for SC Youth, a Ray of Hope for Educated Unemployed

The Sant Ravidas Self-Employment Scheme, the government aims to empower educated unemployed youth and women from the Scheduled Caste (SC) community by promoting self-employment opportunities. For the financial year 2025–26, a target has been set to benefit 40 units under the scheme in the district.

Financial Assistance for Business Establishment:

SC youth and women who have passed at least Class 8 are eligible to apply for setting up their own business. Under the scheme, they can avail loans through banks ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹50 lakh for industrial units, and ₹1 lakh to ₹25 lakh for service-based units.

Interest Subsidy Provision: An interest subsidy of 5% per annum will be provided on the approved loan amount for a maximum duration of 7 years. This initiative is aimed at financially empowering youth and helping them become self-reliant entrepreneurs.

Objective of the Scheme: The primary objective of the Sant Ravidas Self-Employment Scheme 2025 is to offer low-interest loans to SC individuals to help them establish new businesses. The scheme facilitates loans up to ₹50 lakh, thereby providing a strong foundation for self-reliance and financial growth among beneficiaries from the SC community.

Eligibility Criteria:

  1. Applicant must be between 18 and 45 years of age.
  2. Must be a permanent resident of the district.
  3. Should not be a defaulter of any bank or government institution.
  4. Minimum educational qualification should be Class 8 pass.
  5. The annual family income should not exceed ₹12 lakh.
  6. The applicant should not be a beneficiary of any other state or central government self-employment scheme.
